Our guesthouse is in Maklár. This small village is situated in North-Hungary, 130 kms away from Budapest, 10 kms away from Eger.

There are many-many spectacular places to see nearby due to that "here ends the North-Middle-Mountains and here begins the steppe (pusta)".

The closest city is the baroque Eger. This town is extremely rich in thermal waters, furthermore it is a very important cultural center as it has a theatre, colleges, Catholic ministerial-, spiritual center, libraries, museums and often organises Summer Ceremonial Weeks.

Just a few examples from the sights. Eger is very proud of its historical memories: Castle of Eger, Minaret, Liceum, Basilica, etc. Eger is very famous for its delicious wines and ancient cellars.
